The Oradea State Philharmonic continues the tradition of New Year’s concerts and organises at the beginning of 2022 three exceptional concerts, on January 6th, 7th, and 8th, starting at 7 pm, under the famous Spanish conductor David Giménez Carreras.

Born in Barcelona, ​​David Giménez Carreras studied piano and composition at his hometown Conservatory. He specialised in conducting at the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna with Karl Österreicher, and at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Sir Colin Davis. He returns to Oradea, after conducting the Oradea Philharmonic Orchestra in the summer in the “Jose Carreras” concert starring the famous Spanish tenor.
This year’s program includes works by great classical composers, including Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, Aram Khachaturian, Johann Strauss II, and Josef Strauss.
